Professor Cai Zongwei, Director of the State Key Laboratory, attended the 1st GBA High-End Scientific Instrument Industry Development Forum
The 1st GBA High-End Scientific Instrument Industry Development Forum was held in Guangzhou on April 25, 2019. The forum invites top academicians and experts from Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland to envision the development of the industry, and build an industrial technology innovation platform with international influence in GBA. Professor Cai Zongwei, the Director of the State Key Laboratory and the former president of the Hong Kong Society of Mass Spectrometry, was invited to attend the forum as GBA expert.
At the forum, the launch of organizing work for the Guangdong GBA High-end Scientific Instrument Industry Promotion Association was announced. The association was initiated by the relevant units of the domestic scientific instrument industry, rooted in the Greater Bay Area, focusing on the high-end scientific instrument industry, promoting the healthy development of the domestic high-end scientific instrument industry, and building a high-end scientific instrument innovation center in GBA .
The GBA High-end Scientific Instrument Innovation Center intends to adopt the pattern of “Government, Industry, Teaching, Research, User and Finance”, and build six new innovation platforms: Industrial Research Institute, Technology Research Institute, Business Incubator, Talent Training Center, Application Demonstration Center, and The Science Education Platform. It will bring together the resources of Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland to build a world-class high-end scientific instrument innovation platform with international impact, and introduce more advantageous projects to achieve agglomeration of high-end scientific instrument industries.
According to the construction plan, the Innovation Center will take mass spectrometry instruments as major product line, focusing on core technologies such as lasers, ion sources, vacuum systems, and data acquisition, and driving the development of upstream and downstream common technologies.
In application field, efforts will be put into core technologies of high-end scientific instruments such as high-end clinical diagnosis, water-autumn online monitoring, and pesticide residue detection to carry out high-end scientific instrument technology innovations in environmental protection, high-end medical equipment, food safety, aerospace and other fields.
"We really look forward to it. Talents of Hong Kong are very willing to participate in the construction of high-end scientific instrument industry in GBA", Professor Cai Zongwei pointed out at the exchange meeting that basic research in Hong Kong started earlier and was more internationalized but less industrialized and there were few instrument manufacturers. "Now we have top experts in China. The industrial cooperation by Hong Kong and the Mainland has its strategic significance, riding on the development of the GBA to go further", Prof. Cai remarked.
論壇上，廣東粵港澳大灣區高端科學儀器産業促進會籌備工作宣布啓動。該促進會由國內科學儀器行業有關單位發起，扎根粵港澳大灣區，聚焦高端科學儀器産業，促進國産高端科學儀器産業的健康發展，建設粵港澳大灣區高端科學儀器創新中心。
據介紹，粵港澳大灣區高端科學儀器創新中心擬采用“政産學研用金”發展道路，新建6個創新平臺：産業研究院、技術研究院、企業孵化器、人才培養基地、應用示範中心、科普教育平臺，將彙聚港澳及國內優勢資源，建成具有國際影響力、世界級高端科學儀器創新平臺，引進更多優勢項目落地，實現高端科學儀器産業集聚。
按照建設方案規劃，創新中心在産品研發領域將以質譜儀器開發爲主綫，重點攻克激光器、離子源、真空系統、數據采集等關鍵核心技術，幷帶動上下游共性技術的發展。
在應用領域，重點突破高端臨床診斷、水土氣在綫監測、農藥殘快檢等高端科學儀器關鍵核心技術，開展環境保護、高端醫療器械、食品安全、航空航天等領域所需高端科學儀器技術創新和産業化應用。
“我們非常期待，香港的人才非常願意參與大灣區高端科學儀器産業建設。”蔡宗葦教授在交流會上表示，在該領域，香港的基礎研究起步較早，國際化程度高一些，但産業化條件不足，儀器製造企業不多，“現在國內也有非常頂尖的專家，借粵港澳大灣區的東風，香港與內地開展産業化合作具有戰略性意義。”
