Staff and students attended the 10th NCEC and won awards
The 10th National Conference on Environmental Chemistry (10th NCEC) was held on August 15-19, 2019 at Nankai University, Tianjin, China. Six staff and students from SKLEBA participated in the biannual academic event. The theme of the conference was “Facilitating the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution, Launching a New Era of Environmental Science”. The conference, setting up nearly 60 academic sessions according to the latest trends in environmental science and related disciplines, invited hundreds of famous experts to present academic speeches. Meanwhile, Academic events such as poster sessions, postgraduate conferences, analytical instruments exhibitions, meeting with journal editor were held.
Prof. Cai Zongwei , director of SKLEBA and chair professor of department of Chemistry, presented a keynote lecture at the “screening and recognization of pollutants” session. Ms. Song Yuanyuan, PhD candidate of Department of Chemistry and SKLEBA, HKBU, presented a talk themed “Effects of acute ambient PM2.5 exposure on heart in C57BL/6J diet-induced obesity mouse model” and won the first prize of oral presentation. Ms. Tian Jinglin, PhD candidate of Department of Chemistry and SKLEBA, HKBU and UIC, presented her research on “Study on metabolic profile variations in bone cell with cadmium exposure” in the poster session and won the outstanding poster award.
